RESCUE NL was founded to address the problem of animal abuse and neglect in Newfoundland and Labrador. We strive to help any animal that is being mistreated and/or requires assistance to live a happy, healthy life.
Rescue NL began operation in May 2015. We are an incorporated non-profit organization that operates under a no-kill policy lead by a board of directors. We take in animals that have been seized by the authorities (RCMP or RNC), surrendered by their owners, or transferred from another shelter where the animal has reached their holding limit and they are scheduled to be euthanized. Our animals are currently held in a network of foster homes.
All of the work that Rescue NL undertakes is done by volunteers, the only payment here is in tail wags and licks.
Like most rescue groups, Rescue NL operates entirely on public support and fundraising.
WHAT WE DO
Every single day, animals need our help. We feed, exercise, bathe, socialize, play with and provide comfort to these abused, neglected and abandoned animals. We drive the wounded and sick to the veterinarian, change bandages, administer medications and monitor their recovery – with the goal of finding each animal a loving home.
